Full Circle Farms

Today was Harvest Celebration Farm Tours throughout King county and we took advantage of the unbelievably nice weather and spent the afternoon at Full Circle Farms.  We just recently signed up to be part of their CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture) and each week a box of delicious, homegrown, organic fruits and veggies are delivered to our door.  Its such a fun way to learn to cook with fresh new foods and maybe stuff that I wouldn’t typically add to our daily menu (Swiss chard, for instance).  So today we decided to tour the farm where we’ve been reaping the benefits of their hard work.

We enjoyed a stroll through their vast fields of veggies and flowers.

 

 

We went on a hay ride… a few times.  The kids loved it and got to go by themselves as well .

The day and the farm were gorgeous – full of color and goodness.  And there’s something about seeing where things come from and how they grow that make my kids even better eaters.   Tomorrow’s dinner – roasted beets and goat cheese on mixed baby greens…
